Orlando City SC's Martin Perelman will remain as the club's interim head coach despite a slow start to the season. The decision was confirmed by the club's sporting director and general manager, Ricardo Moreira. Perelman took over as interim head coach after the sudden departure of Oscar Pareja. Since then, the team has achieved a 7-6-2 record in all competitions, scoring 29 goals and conceding 37. The team has reached the semifinals of the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup but closed out the first half of the regular season with a 6-2 loss at FC Cincinnati. Orlando City SC enters the World Cup break in 12th place in the Eastern Conference and 25th overall in the MLS standings. Moreira stated that the team is not happy with their current position but understands the context of the season. Perelman's stability is seen as crucial for the team, especially with the upcoming integration of new player Antoine Griezmann.
