Orlando City SC is on a record-breaking pace for conceding goals, and a big reason for this is the rotation along the back line. Robin Jansson's return from injury has helped, but he's getting older and won't be around forever. Iago's performance has improved, but he's not where he needs to be yet. David Brekalo keeps getting moved between center back and left back, and Nolan Miller is barely seeing time. The club needs to add another veteran center back to shore up the back line. In the attack, Martin Ojeda is playing well and scoring plenty of goals, but the arrival of Antoine Griezmann will help create space and get more opportunities. However, the Lions need another body at striker, as Duncan McGuire hasn't gotten back to consistent form since his back-to-back shoulder injuries. Orlando City SC needs McGuire to get his mojo back or to add another target striker. The midfield has been a strength for the club, with Cesar Araujo and Wilder Cartagena providing one of the best defensive midfields in MLS. But the club needs to find a way to get all its key players on the pitch together consistently. The Orlando Pride has similar positions of need, including center back and attacker. The Pride lost Emily Sams and hasn't been able to replace her yet. Hailie Mace was supposed to be the replacement, but that experiment has run its course. Rafaelle seems to finally be healthy and is the stabilizing force on the back line, but she can't do it alone. Cori Dyke has been playing in the middle and has been serviceable, but is she a long-term answer at center back? Barbra Banda is leading the Golden Boot race in 2026 and is often unstoppable, but she isn't getting much help. The Pride needs to find a way to get Banda, Marta, and Jacquie Ovalle on the pitch together consistently. Marta is unlikely to continue much longer, and even now seems to only be able to provide a limited number of minutes. Her replacement is needed so that the team can have continuity. Orlando City SC and the Orlando Pride have a lot of work to do to address their positions of need, but with the right reinforcements, they can make a push for success in their respective leagues.
